Liu Xuanlian, born in Taipei, Taiwan, graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts (bachelor’s and master’s degrees) and earned his Master’s in Guitar Performance from the Óscar Esplá Conservatory in Alicante, Spain. Under the tutelage of Fang Ming-Chien, Li Zhen-Sheng, and Ignacio Rodes, he specialized in early Romantic-era music and Spanish guitar repertoire. His exceptional artistry and profound academic background have led to collaborations with major orchestras and performances in prestigious concert halls worldwide.

Performance Highlights

2024:

  • Appointed as Professor of Classical Guitarat Tainan University of Technology and Applied Sciences.
  • Invited as guest performerfor Zhang Zhiyang’s tour, conducting masterclasses and concerts in Zhengzhou, Luoyang, and Xinxiang (China).
  • Solo recital at Alicante Cultural Center, performing “Sonata del Tiempo”by Óscar Esplá(renowned Spanish composer).

2023:

  • Performed “Concierto de Aranjuez”with the Taiwan University of Arts Symphony Orchestra.
